As a chartered Psychologist my professional practice is governed by the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Whatever you say to me is confidential unless:

  • What you say may indicate serious harm to yourself or someone else (duty of care)
  • Legal requirement
  • Report required by a referring agency or insurance company paying for your fees.

However, in the event that a need to disclose information should arise  this would first be discussed with you with regards to how to proceed.

Furthermore, all psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors receive regular supervision from a trained supervisor to ensure that they work ethically and effectively. This is done in a confidential and anonymous manner.

I keep notes on our sessions to remind me what we have discussed and to enable me to tailor therapy effectively to your needs. These are kept anonymous and stored in a secure place.
